In this one-day session, delegates will consider the key issues around curriculum access for learners who have English as an additional language, including supporting and inducting new arrivals. Evaluating evidence from current research, delegates will explore available strategies to support EAL
learners in the classroom, including latest guidance from The Bell Foundation and EAL Nexus
Venue will be either South Yorkshire or Cambridge, decided by the location of the majority of participants.Audience: Senior Leaders with direct responsibility for Teaching and Learning in their Academy.
These meetings will provide an excellent opportunity to discuss the most up to date Teaching and Learning research, share best practice and also provide a input into Teaching and Learning Quality Assurance systems. They will provide a wonderful opportunity for leaders to discuss strategic direction and to collaborate in order to raise the standard and quality of teaching and learning in individual academies, Hubs and across the trust.
It is important that all academies are represented at these meetings.

Overview currently listed: These sessions will be led by Rebekah Peet (Greengate Lane AP & English Ad Astra) and will walk Y6 teachers and Literacy/KS2 Leads through the key actions and interventions necessary to accelerate KS2 outcomes. The sessions will enable Y6 staff to share best practice and model how to:
- analyse for gaps through the 15:1 process
- establish effective and efficient interventions
- plan varied activities around SATs reading papers
- establish a range of evidence for the writing portfolios
