Leading Primary History - Preparing a Primary History Curriculum from scratch - A case study in transition (Cancelled)
This practical session for existing or new leaders and terachers of primary history and secondary history teachers in Astrea schools features an example of collaboration between Matt Stanford, Ad Astra for History and Head of History at Cottenham Village College (an Astrea secondary school in Cambridgeshire) and Dave Morel, Head Teacher at Willingham Primary School (one of Cottenham’s feeder primary schools). Both colleagues have planned a creative new curriculum with fresh enquiries and resources for history from scratch taking into account the challenges of the new OFSTED framework and the demands of Key Stage Three at Cottenham. Matt and Dave are both outstanding practitioners and their experience would prove a useful example to colleagues attending the session in both revising their own curriculum and seeking to create meaningful transition between History at KS2 and 3 .
