Aspiring Senior Leadership Development
This intensive leadership programme is comprised of three core elements. Element 1 involves a full day workshop and taught sessions (see outline below). Element 2 is a School-based experience. This is intended to provide experience of genuine leadership issues. Element 3 is Coaching which is a central component of leadership learning and development. Coaching will be provided in the participant’s own school, as part of the placement and through peer support, for example, supporting each other through peer coaching, sharing ideas and resources for the leadership placement. There will be five workshops held at regular intervals across the academic year. Each workshop will include:
Sharing progress, issues and successes
Focusing on a specific issue in effective leadership
Improving Reading Outcomes for Vulnerable Learners (South Yorkshire)
This two session workshop will provide colleagues with researched based information about interventions and class-based strategies that can be successful in improving reading outcomes for vulnerable learners. Colleagues will need to attend both Part 1 and Part 2 of the training. After an introduction to researched strategies and interventions during the first session, colleagues will then have the opportunity to implement planned changes to the delivery of reading back in their own Academy. The second training session will provide the opportunity for colleagues to network and reflect on the impact of the reading strategies implemented, sharing best practice across the Trust.
